Have you ever thought of what life would be like if Christ had never come? There would be no church steeples dotting our landscape. No hymns to sing. Oh, the Christmas holiday would still remain, for it originated from pagan ritual, but it would be quite different than it is for Christians today. There would be no nativity scenes on fireplace mantels. No hope to dispense to those who were despondent. No ministers to speak words of encouragement and peace.
The only thing worse would be if God Himself truly didn’t exist. Think about it. No God, only man made gods. No standard to live by. Do you realize the absolute chaos that would cause over time? Man living by his own constructed standards, ultimately caring for no one but himself.
The glorious truth that millions upon millions have come to believe by faith is that God does exist and Christ really did come to earth. Theologians differ on exactly when Christ’s birth occurred, but that should matter little to the believer. The fact remains that He came. What a wonderful truth! What a tremendous hope it provides to all mankind. Forgiveness came in the form of a baby, sent by God to free us all of our sins. What a blessed Savior!
Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
Merry Christmas!!
