“I have said these things to you, that in me
you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I
have overcome the world.”- John 16:33
Since the creation of man there have been
troublesome times. The author of the trouble is God’s chief enemy, Lucifer,
better known to us as Satan. Men are unknowing, yet willing participants in the
chaos Satan tries to introduce. God is aware of all his goings on, but allows
these things for his own purposes. Unregenerate man does what seems right to
him based on his own personal set of values. We can see where all that has
gotten him.
In
spite of all the tribulation that permeates the world believers in Christ can
have peace. The reason is simple: God has overcome the world. There is nothing
that takes place anywhere in his creation that he is not aware of. As we seek
to please him with our lives, the Lord orchestrates events that take us further
along the path of righteousness. Tests of faith in the form of trials cause our
faith and trust in God to grow. Our spiritual maturation is a progressive thing
that will absolutely take the rest of our lives. Despite what some folks may
think, living for the Lord is an exhilarating and challenging way to live. Set
your sights on heaven and walk on. Until next time, walk with the King and be a
blessing!
