Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” - Matthew 19:14
Little children have a wide-eyed wonder about them. Their faith and trust is pure and unwavering. We are to trust God with that same pure and unwavering faith. Children may learn to strain at the leash at an early age, but their trust is evident, for we all want to be able to trust those who influence us the most.
God is worthy of our trust. He never changes (Malachi 3:6a). His love for us is unconditional and never-ending (Psalm 143:8). His love is such that He sent His Son to die in our place (Romans 5:8). As children trust those who brought them into this world, so are we to trust Almighty God. The kingdom belongs to those who have the faith to believe and the trust to persevere. The free will God gave us is so we willingly come to Him of our own accord and not as some religious requirement. Willing devotion to our God; that is what He desires from us all. Until next time…walk with the King and be a blessing!
