“A good man deals graciously and lends; He will guide his affairs with discretion.” - Psalm 112:5
Since we believe God created everything that is in existence, then everything is His. Psalm 24:1 tells us as much; “The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it…” . It’s a lot easier to lend out money if we realize that it really is the Lord’s anyway. When we tithe (giving a tenth of our first fruits [read: paycheck] to that place where we get spiritually fed), it shouldn’t be so difficult to part with since we’re really giving back to God what is His in the first place. When we make important life decisions we should lay them before the Lord and proceed with His directives in mind. Using discretion is the ability to make responsible decisions based on the knowledge we have at hand. If we tap into the vast knowledge of God through His word and through communing with Him we will tend to make better choices. Isaiah 46:10 makes it known that God knows “the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come.” God’s vastness surpasses anything this world could ever offer.
