“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” (Romans 8:35,37)
The Apostle Paul had preached the gospel in the territories to his east. Now he planned a missionary trip to Spain, hoping that Rome would be his home base. This letter was to the folks he had converted in his travels who had since moved to Rome. In this letter he has put together a systematic presentation of the gospel, so that should he die, the gospel would be preserved.
We know God’s love for us is without conditions; therefore, nothing we could ever say or do would cause God to turn His back on us. While consequences always result from bad choices, the love the Lord has for us remains the same. I often refer to God as the lone constant in a sea of inconsistency. No matter what life throws at us we shall be victorious if we stand tall in Christ. It’s because of Him we are conquerors in all situations and not anything we do on our own. This is why we must surrender to God’s will for us, for He knew the outcome of each situation we would encounter before the beginning of time. Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
