“For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.” (Psalm 33:4)
Although the author of this Psalm is unknown, it’s message is clear and consistent with scripture. It's a Psalm of praise to Almighty God, maker of heaven and earth.
Two truths shine forth from this one verse. The word of God is declared to be right and true. Hebrews 4:12 says this: “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” There’s something about the word of God that pierces our soul and convicts us at our core. God’s spirit is in His word, judging the hearts of men.
Faithful is being constant and steadfast. Scripture tells us there is no shadow of turning with God. In other words, He is consistent and reliable. He doesn’t change His mind and His decisions are always right. As I often say, God is the one true constant in a sea of inconsistency. He provides the only standard by which we can live and thrive this side of heaven until our time on earth is done.
Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
