“I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward
each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.” Jeremiah 17:10
This is good news for those who live godly lives. It’s bad news to those whose ways are
divisive and deceitful. God, who
withholds no good thing from His children, will reward those who live their
lives according to the standards set forth in scripture to the best of their
ability. Those who live for others and
place their own wants and desires aside shall receive blessings from the Lord
for their unselfishness.
Those who live their lives, whether knowingly or
unknowingly, in rebellion of God’s standards will reap the benefits of the
unwise. They shall receive no good thing
from the Lord, but rather only those things they have taken on their own. Those things are worldly, temporal things
that shall decay and crumble to dust one day.
They lead empty lives and shall remain empty till the end.
For
those who have embraced the truth of God’s word and remained faithful to their
calling in Christ, their deeds will be fairly judged by the Lord. The world will mock us for our reserved
living, but will be the ones who are mocked in the end. God is fair and just and will reward all
according to what our deeds deserve. How
are you living your life? Until next
time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
