THE ALPHA & OMEGA

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?”  Matthew 6:24-25
I have often said that God will provide for and sustain His children.  Here is one proof of that.  While money is necessary for survival, it isn’t the most important thing in our life, or at least it’s not supposed to be.  No matter how much money you have, it will run out eventually.  Anything that wears out or can be depleted cannot be relied upon exclusively.  God, on the other hand, is “the Alpha and the Omega” (Revelation 1:8), the beginning and the end.  He shall never cease to exist; therefore He can be relied upon totally.
We were created to worship Almighty God.  In worshipping Him we are also to serve Him for His glory and our greatest benefit.  We cannot serve two masters.  Each master will seek our allegiance, yet only one can have it in its entirety.
If we pledge our allegiance to Almighty God we will have nothing to worry about in this life.  We are human so we still are prone to worry, but in reality, because of who God is, we truly have nothing to be concerned about.  Our daily provisions will be provided for us in some form or fashion when we are in need.  We will never go hungry and will never go naked.  The Lord is ever mindful of our comings and our goings (Psalm 121:8).  There is nothing that befalls us that He is unaware of.  He cares for us and loves us with an unconditional love.  Even when we fail, He is there to lift us up and help us on our way.  He is patient with us for He knows we are but dust and to dust we shall one day return (Genesis 3:19).  Fear nothing and serve God.  Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
