“I, even I,
am the Lord, and apart from me there is no savior. I have revealed and saved
and proclaimed— I, and not some foreign god among you. You are my witnesses,”
declares the Lord, “that I am God.” Isaiah 43:11-12
There
have been foreign gods among us for as long as there has been time. Men have invented or imagined gods to suit
their own desires. They are unwilling to
submit to the one true God, refusing to believe He is real. It’s an issue that has haunted man from the
beginning of time. It’s far easier to
try to be a good as he can be in this life and believe that is good
enough. That way you are in control.
Even if man claims to believe
in the one true God, he sidesteps his responsibility to know Him in an intimate
sense even as he is known. Man would
rather believe God is a loving, merciful God and that’s where it ends, as if
those to characteristics could ever sum Him up.
The truth of the matter is
shown in Isaiah where the prophet trumpets a declaration from the Lord
Himself: “I am the Lord … apart from me
there is no savior.” Unlike the
Hindus who believe every road (or belief system) leads up to the same mountaintop,
Christianity believes in One True God who is over all the mankind He
created. Experimenting with various
religions will only confuse you. There
is one way to heaven, not many. There is
one savior who paid the price owed for our disobedience, Jesus Christ. God alone is our savior. If you are a believer in Christ, it behooves
you to know Him as well as He can be known.
Live for Christ, die to self.
Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
