“He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. … Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
(2 Corinthians 5:15, 17)
The New Year has arrived full of hope and promise. It’s seen as a fresh start, a do over of sorts. For the Christian it can be seen as if we are being born again all over again. It should be a time for reflection and introspection. The slate is clean. What will we write on it in 2014?
If we have allowed Christ into our lives then we should no longer be living for ourselves, but rather for the One who died and rose again. This is a perfect time to make an assessment of our walk with God. Have we allowed Him to have His way in us? Are we striving to be more like Christ in all we think, say and do? Do we see those around us as God sees them?
Embrace this opportunity to make positive strides in our walk with Christ. He died for us, paying the price for our sin. Should we not live for Him? Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
