SEEKING WISDOM

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” (James 1:5)
James, in his letter “to the 12 tribes scattered among the nations”, instructs them to seek wisdom from God if they find themselves in need of it. Being no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34), God gives all who ask what they need at the time they most need it.
Proverbs 26:12 issues the following warning: “Do you see a person wise in their own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for them.” We think we know exactly what we’re doing in any given situation, but most times do not. We think it’s a sign of weakness to admit our inability to figure out a solution to our problems. Nothing could be further from the truth. It’s a matter of admitting our need of a higher intellect, that being Almighty God. He alone knows the beginning from the end and will allow us to use sound judgment in our decision-making if we ask. God doesn’t indiscriminately dole out His gifts to unsuspecting recipients, but rather presents them to those who seek them out. Therefore, if you lack wisdom, simply and sincerely ask the Lord for it along with guidance and direction and you shall receive it at the moment that it’s needed most.
Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
