“So teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12)
Have you ever procrastinated? I have. Wasted time? I’ve done that too. While it’s not a sin, we do tend to overlook the importance of time. I have often said that time means nothing to God and that’s true. We, however, operate within the constraints of time and must weigh the importance of each day we are alive. God wishes to use us for His own purposes; purposes which will be unclear to us if we don’t spend time with Him.
There will always be times for relaxation and rest. There are weekend excursions with family and friends to be taken; vacations to enjoy. That isn’t what I speak of. I speak of the things of the spirit. We must allow time for that as well.
To know God is to know His will. To know God is to spend intimate time with Him. He wishes to bless us and use us, but we won’t be prepared if we are not the least bit attentive to our own spiritual growth. There is wisdom to be gained from spending quality time with our God. Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
