"My
grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness." – 2 Corinthians 12:9
God’s grace – favor we can’t earn and definitely do
not deserve. It’s favor that comes by association, given freely as a
gift. The Lord is Almighty, while we are not. We are weak by comparison,
every one of us. It’s my opinion that the weaker we are, the more God can use
us. That’s probably because our ego doesn’t get in the way of God when he is
moving. Men pride themselves for having Doctorates in Divinity, yet the first
disciples were largely unlearned fishermen. (Except Luke, who was a physician.)
In truth all we really need is a willing heart and a penchant for yielding to
the Spirit as he ministers to us for us to be effective for the Lord. After
nearly 39 years I still don’t have that down, but I haven’t given up.
Grace leads us to receive the remedy for our gravest need, forgiveness from all our sin. Forgiveness causes our faith to explode and our trust to take hold. Knowing we have a complete do over without strings attached is humbling. We do nothing but accept God on his terms where we stand. Forgiveness lies in the blood of Christ, grace comes from the heart of God. Never make his grace a cheap thing. Without it we’d die in our sins and be separated from God forever! Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing! rlkeller
