“Listen, O
Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. And you must love the Lord your
God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength.” – Deuteronomy
6:4-5
The
Judeo-Christian faith is monotheistic in nature. We believe there is one &
only one God. The above verses were recited by the Jews both morning &
evening; it was their great confession of faith in the one true God. The
prophet Isaiah states in chapter 44 verse 6, “This is what the Lord says - Israel’s King and Redeemer, the Lord
Almighty: I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God.” This one true God is to be loved with the totality of your being.
The New Testament adds one component to the mix by stating you must love the
Lord with all your mind as well as your heart, soul & strength.
This is the
choice every man must make. Give up living for yourself & dedicate your
everything to your Creator God. All the promises written in scripture are for
those who dedicate their life to following Christ. Have you make a spiritual
assessment of your life lately? Listen to what the Lord is saying to your heart
& follow the Spirit’s lead. It is God’s desire to bless you, but we don’t
love him & serve him to get a blessing. We do it because we desire to.
Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
