“Pray, too,
that we will be rescued from wicked and evil people, for not everyone is a
believer. But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from
the evil one.” - 2
Thessalonians 3:2-3
Whether you realize it or not underneath the mundaneness of our
lives there is a titanic spiritual struggle taking place. The enemy of our
soul, Satan, is at work to trip us up and woo us away from our first love. It
is my belief that any attacks by the enemy are 1) allowed and watched over by
Almighty God, and 2) will come to nothing if we keep our gaze fixed on Christ.
But the attacks are real and will happen in the lives of dedicated
believers. It is my belief that God can and will place a hedge of protection
around each one who asks for it. You can read Psalm 91 to see example of a
prayer for a hedge of protection against the enemy.
In times such as
these we must know the scriptures and have placed our full trust in the Lord’s
ability to not only protect but also, if and when necessary, rescue us from the
wiles of the devil. God is over all powers and principalities known to man.
Siding with anyone but Almighty God is like taking a cruise on a sinking ship.
You will not survive.
Even though we tend
to be unfaithful followers of Christ, God remains faithful because he cannot
deny who he is (2 Timothy 2:13 NLT). Remain faithful. Reflect on all that the
Lord has done for you. Thank him for his grace and smile, you are blessed of
God. Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
