“But the rulers of this world have not understood it; if they had, they
would not have crucified our glorious Lord. That is what the Scriptures mean
when they say, ’No eye has seen, no ear has heard and no mind has imagined what
God has prepared for those who love him.’ But it was to us that God revealed
these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us
God’s deep secrets.” – 1 Corinthians 2:8-10
The leaders of Jesus day
misunderstood his message & those the world consider wise & great in
stature condemned him. They didn’t realize that Christ could only be understood
thru the Spirit. Even to this day his message remains hidden from unbelievers
who either refuse to accept it, choose to ignore it or simply haven’t heard it.
“But people who
aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds
foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual
can understand what the Spirit means.” (1 Corinthians 2:14)
No one can fool the Lord with feigned
devotion for scripture tells us God knows the heart of every man. [1] The
reason we as believers need to be led by the Spirit is because it is the Holy
Spirit, 3rd Person of the Trinity, who searches the deepest depths
of divine knowledge for our benefit. We cannot know the deeper things of God
unless the Spirit reveals them. This is why it takes an abiding commitment to
truly know God. These are things that the world knows nothing of & has
absolutely no access to. The Lord allows
us to be privy to that which will benefit us the most in our walk with God.
Sell out to the Lord & watch your life change. Until next time, walk with
the King and be a blessing!
