“The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves.” (Zephaniah 3:17a)
The Lord is the mighty protector of Israel and by extension, due to being grafted in to the tree of life, the non-Jew or gentile as well. We should picture our Lord as a mighty warrior who protects and saves us from harm. Back in the days of the prophet Zephaniah, during King Josiah’s reign, there were nations that lived wicked lives and did evil deeds, some intended against Israel. God was and is their protector. In this day and age, we can take comfort that the same God who protects Israel, protects us as well. The trials we experience are to test the genuineness of our faith, but no harm shall befall us. It is only when we ignore God’s directives and go our own way that we reap the consequences of our folly. Always remember and never forget, if you are in right relationship with God, He is with you.
