“And we know that all
things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the
called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
Whenever we are surrounded by
the winds and waves of dire circumstances, remember this verse of
scripture. No matter what comes our way,
no matter how much of a beating we feel we are taking, God has promised His
children that everything will work out for our good. It’s in the trying times that our faith gets
stretched like taffy. It’s about then
that we cry out for mercy, begging God to lighten our burden. But if He did, we would not learn the lessons
He has for us to learn. When things are
at their worst we must bring to our remembrance all the promises from scripture
to bolster the faith we have. We must
always remember that God will never fail or forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6 &
8) and that God is with us wherever we go (Joshua 1:9).
That
is the reason it is so important to read the Bible. You cannot remember what you never knew in
the first place. Scripture is meant for
instruction, encouragement and hope. We
should read the Bible because of a hunger that grows in our spirit to be fed
the truth. Without that can we ever
truly know God? Until next time, walk
with the King and be a blessing!
