“Salvation
is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to
mankind by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
After Jesus ascended into
heaven, Peter and John began telling the people of Israel He had risen from the
dead. The religious leaders were greatly
disturbed by this and arrested them. The
next morning they were brought before the Sanhedrin* and asked by what authority
they were saying such things. Verse 12
is part of Peter’s response.
Those words remain true today.
The complete and total forgiveness of all our sins can be found in no one else.
Sent by God to pay the sin debt of all
mankind, Jesus allowed Himself to be crucified for our sake. While the Jewish historian Flavius Josephus
chronicles the existence of Jesus, there’s no proof that God exists or that
Jesus was God’s Son. However, proof
negates the need for faith and faith is required to please God (Hebrews 11:6). Atheists and other naysayers ridicule what
they do not understand, not realizing that all have fallen short of the glory
of God (Romans 3:23). The fact of the
matter is there’s no one else coming that will be able to wash away the stain
sin causes on one’s life.
With Resurrection Sunday
approaching, reflect on the price that was paid for your forgiveness and be
grateful to God. Until next time, walk
with the King and be a blessing!
