“Do what is
right and good in the Lord’s sight, so that it may go well with you … .” (Deuteronomy 6:18a)
Man’s
track record to do right in God’s sight is not particularly good. We tend to do that which is easiest or most
pleasurable for us. God has good reason
for us to follow the standard He has set forth.
He knows we will gain the greatest benefit doing those things He has
laid out. We think we know better and
find out oft times when it is too late that we’ve made a mistake.
The standard God has set
before us is simple really: “Love the Lord your God with all your
heart, mind, soul and strength and your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke
10:27) If we do that we will be compelled
to do that which is pleasing in the sight of the Lord. It’s when we wrench control of our lives back
from God that our ship runs aground.
Allow God to have control of your ‘everything’. He will not fail you. Until next time, walk
with the King and be a blessing!
