“For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through
the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved
through his life!” (Romans 5:10)
Have
you ever considered yourself an enemy of God?
Prior to your conversion your sin alienated you from Him, thus making
you an enemy. Christ took on all our sin
as a means of bridging the gap between God and man. Once cleansed of all sin, we are supposed to
live our lives for God and no longer
for ourselves.
This
conversion we speak of involves repentance.
Repentance is making a 180-degree turn; walking away from the old life we
once knew. The world calls Christian living too restrictive. They do as they please, never realizing that
all things are not constructive or beneficial for them. The devil makes promises he has no intention
of keeping to draw them into life decisions that will lead to their ultimate
destruction. God provides a fulfilling
alternative that gives us a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
In
salvation, the most important thing God saves us from is ourselves. We make ill-advised decisions all the time
and never think a thing of it. The Lord
can begin to correct all that if we will listen and hear what He wants to
say to us and then act accordingly.
Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
