“I have been
crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I
now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave
himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)
When
this verse says we’ve been crucified with Christ and no longer live, it’s not speaking
of our physical death; it’s speaking of an inward spiritual fellowship that
occurs. Giving our life to God doesn’t
cause our personage to be suppressed in any way. We’re still who we were prior to
our conversion; however, as God’s Holy Spirit enters in we become one with
Him. Old things pass away, all things
become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). We now
live by faith, believing in unseen things as if they can be seen.
When
we are going through a difficult time in our lives and wonder where God is in
the midst of all the chaos and pain, we need look no further then within
ourselves. God, in the form of the Holy
Spirit, resides in us. So where is God
during our darkest hours? God is before
us, behind us, all around us and within us. That’s the most intimate
relationship you can have with God because no one else can dwell inside your
earthly shell. Oh we try to cram other
things in there, but they won’t fit.
Only the Spirit of God fits. Christ gave Himself as a ransom so that His
spirit might live in us. Until next
time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
