“God
demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ
died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
Love
is an action word. You can tell someone
you love them a million times over, but if you don’t show them your words become like white noise over time.
When
someone demonstrates something to another they are showing them how it’s to be done.
God showed us how to love by
dying for us when we least deserved it.
We shun those around us due to their outward appearance or the way they
act, yet God never shunned us for any reason at all. He created us and loves us as any parent
would their child. He showed us His love. He gave us a living, breathing example in
Jesus Christ. Christ didn’t go to the
cross once we were cleaned up and pristine; He went to the cross with us still
living deep in sin. Our filthy rags were
rich with the stench of our disobedience.
Yet He came, bled and died for you and me. He’d do it again if it were necessary;
however, scripture declares that the blood shed at Calvary more than 2000 years
ago was done once for all for all time (Hebrews 9:28). This is our example of how to love. Until next time, walk with the King and be a
blessing!
