“… clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus
Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.”
(Romans 13:14)
The flesh runs contrary to the spirit. Desires of the flesh fly in the face of all that God stands for. Everything that is good and right and decent and moral lies in the standard set forth by Almighty God. Those who spend valuable time thinking about ways to gratify their fleshly desires will, over time, shrivel up and die inside for there is no lastly satisfaction found in temporal things.

The Apostle Paul calls the Roman
believers to clothe themselves with Christ.
Each day we put on clothing; this is what is expected of us and what is
socially acceptable. The believer is to
put on Christ each day as they would a set of clothing. Those we encounter each
day should notice a difference in the way we behave once we’ve committed our
lives to the Lord. As we draw closer to
God our character will begin to resemble His more and more.
Living for self is fruitless and in the end will leave us empty
inside. Living for God will fill us to
over flowing with peace and contentment the world cannot comprehend. So clothe yourself daily with Christ and be a
lighthouse of hope to the world. Until next time, walk with the King and be a
blessing!
