“The Son is
the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being,
sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification
for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.” (Hebrews 1:3)
Just
as the moon radiates the light from the sun, so the Son radiates the light of
God’s glory. The character and
attributes Jesus displayed on earth is a representation of God’s character and
attributes. Christ, being sinless, was
the only one who could have brought purification to a sinful world. A spotless lamb needed to be sacrificed, a
spotless lamb was provided.
It’s interesting
to think that everything in existence is sustained by the word of God. He spoke everything into existence with words
and sustains it just the same. One word from God can change a person’s entire
set of circumstances. Man has done his best to harness great power to operate
generators to run machines to lighten workmen’s load, yet no power know to man
can compete with the power generated by one word from the Creator of all
things.
Christ sat down signifying that it was finished. Nothing else needed to be done. God’s salvation plan had been set in motion. Once a person asks for and receives forgiveness for his sins, they are never held against him again. The slate has been wiped clean. They get a fresh start. That is good news! Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
