GOD HEARS US

“In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help.  From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears.”  (Psalm 18:6)

There is no doubt that we all find ourselves in distress at times.  Those who do not know the Lord are without help; subject to their own limited resources.  The Christian, however, can cry out to Him with confidence, for as depicted here in the 18th Psalm, God hears our cries for help.

Psalm 121:4 tells us that our God neither slumbers, nor sleeps.  For those who wonder the difference between slumber and sleep; to slumber is to be in a dormant or inactive state.  To sleep is to simply to be in a state of rest for mind and body.  Therefore, God is never dormant or inactive.  He is ever watchful, protecting His children as a Shepherd protects his flock.

We can cry out to God at any time and be assured that He hears us and will respond.  The response may not come immediately.  It may not come for days, weeks, months or years.  That’s where our faith and trust comes in.  God’s timing is impeccable.  He is never wrong, never late, nor does He ever forget.  You can be assured of two things; 1) That God will always hear you when you call; 2) He will always give you the answer you need at precisely the correct moment in time that it is needed.  Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
