“The Spirit
searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who knows a person’s
thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the
thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. What we have received is not the
spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand
what God has freely given us.” (1 Corinthians 2:10b-12)
God knows all things by His Spirit. That same Spirit dwells in us if we have
surrendered our heart, mind and life over to Christ. Once this takes place we can begin to know
the mind of God by listening to His Spirit within us. It’s something that requires discipline.
No one has ever learned
anything new by talking, so knowing comes by listening. And listening is far different from hearing,
so in reality, we must both listen AND hear what the Spirit of God is saying to
us. Spending time with God is the only
way to know Him better. Knowing Him
better causes our spiritual hearing to improve.
Knowing Him better will also cause His desires to slowly become
ours. As a result, we’ll begin to take
on His character traits as well.
God knows all things by His Spirit. That’s how He knows us so well. Pretending to be devoted to Him could never fool Him for God knows our hearts. Our own Spirits give us away. Take seriously your walk with God and allow Him to make you everything He knows you can be for the Kingdom. Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
